Colorado Staycation

No need to travel out of state or out of country to have a great time this summer. The Denver area is the perfect base for a wide range of activities for affordable Colorado staycation for families and couples alike.

As many Denver locals know, a trip to the mountains is always fun, no matter the season. Mountain biking and hiking at the various ski areas is fun and convenient. Vail, Breckenridge and Keystone – as well as Winter Park and Steamboat Springs – offer festivals throughout the summer and fall. High country condo rates are very affordable for summer visitors.

Discover and explore Colorado Springs:

Tours of the Air Force Academy or a hike at Seven Falls can easily take a full day once a meal is added to the trip. Don’t miss the Garden of the Gods, Cave of the Winds and lunch in Manitou Springs for a fun daytrip.

Golden:

has a great summer market and town for shopping and dining.

Looking for art? Go shopping in Boulder:

or take the Royal Arch hike near the Flat Irons. Grandma in town for a visit? The Celestial Seasons tea factory has an informative tour and a great excuse to wrap up with lunch in Boulder.

If you’re able to stay overnight, head to Grand Valley:

for the vineyards, great dining, shopping and scenery. Palisades, Grand Junction and Fruita offer a “bunch” of activities from wine tasting to mountain biking to fly fishing. Or, travel to Estes Park and enjoy a few days of gorgeous scenery, hiking and camping.

We’re lucky to live in a state with so many options for day trips and staycations. Sometimes staying close is the most relaxing way to spend vacation. Enjoy a Colorado Staycation!
