‘Moon Over Buffalo’

WHEN: Thru March 20, 2022 (Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday)

WHERE: Miners Alley Playhouse, Golden

Considered one of the funniest comedies of the 20th century, this musical tells the story of acting couple, Charlotte and George Hay, as they are on tour in Buffalo, New York, in 1953. Unfortunately for George and Charlotte, everything that could go wrong does go wrong, due to a visit from their daughter’s clueless fiancé and hilarious uncertainty about which play they’re actually performing, caused by Charlotte’s deaf, old, stage-manager mother who hates every bone in George’s body.

 

Colorado Ballet Presents ‘The Wizard of Oz’

WHEN: March 11–20, 2022 (Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday)

WHERE: Ellie Caulkins Opera House

Dorothy and a whirlwind of your favorite characters are brought back down the Yellow Brick Road in Septime Webre’s magical production. Whimsical and timeless, Webre’s choreography showcases the athleticism of each dancer on their dazzling journey to Emerald City.

 

Boulder Opera: ‘Il Trovatore’

WHEN: March 19–20, 2022

WHERE: Dairy Arts Center, Boulder

This emotional melodrama takes place in 16th century Spain and has it all: witchcraft, murder, love and vengeance. The jealous Count di Luna is obsessed with Leonora, a young noblewoman in the queen’s service, who does not feel the same. She is in love with the troubadour Manrico, leader of the partisan rebel forces. A bohemian woman and Manrico’s mother, Azucena, seeks revenge for the murder of her mother by di Luna’s father.

 

Littleton Youth Ballet presents ‘Cinderella’

WHEN: March 19–20, 2022

WHERE: Lone Tree Arts Center, Lone Tree

This family-friendly production is the perfect way to introduce your children to ballet. Littleton Youth Ballet presents the full-length ballet Cinderella. Enjoy the beauty of Cinderella, her Stepsisters, and the wicked Stepmother. All performances feature beautiful backdrops, costumes, and scenery performed by talented young dancers.

 

‘Tootsie’

WHEN: March 29 – April 10, 2022

WHERE: Buell Theatre

This musical adaptation of the beloved 1982 movie tells the story of Michael Dorsey, a talented actor struggling to find work until one show-stopping act of desperation lands him the role of a lifetime. This lighthearted musical is based on the Tony Award-winning book by Robert Horn and features a score written by Tony Award winner David Yazbek.
