Suburb Stats for Castle Pines North, Colorado

In 2012, Castle Pines North was awarded the No.3 “Best Suburban Place to Live in Colorado”. It is a coveted suburb for factors including its proximity to Denver, luxury residential areas and access to outdoor amenities like parks, playgrounds and jogging paths. There are also a variety of schools and abundant subdivision neighborhoods with kids.

Population

Though the city has a median age of about 42 years old, the city attracts residents in all stages of life. Residents are highly educated with more than 70 percent of residents having obtained at least a bachelor’s degree, and most have careers in sales and management. In other words, the locale is a place where people come to escape the hectic pace of their work lives to enjoy the fruits of their labor.

Castle Pines homes offer bang for your buck with many houses boasting four or more bedrooms, ample acreage and luxurious amenities. Also, since the city was incorporated in 2008, many homes are of considerably new construction.

The city of Castle Pines is located within the Douglas County School District RE-1. There are five school buildings located within the Castle Pines city limits. All of these schools offer preschool and kindergarten programming, two of which educate through the fifth grade level, and two of which educate through eighth grade. There are no high schools located in Castle Pines proper. The closest high school buildings are located in nearby Lone Tree (about five miles north) and Castle Rock (about six miles south).

Medical Centers in Castle Pines

A handful of private medical practices and family doctor offices are located in central Castle Pines. There are two major medical centers located nearby. The Sky Ridge Medical Center is five miles north of Castle Pines in the neighboring community of Lone Tree. This facility offers specialized care centers for cancer treatment, women’s health care, joint and spine treatment and an award-winning birthing center. The Castle Rock Adventist Hospital by Centura Health is about seven miles south of Castle Pines This hospital provides the surrounding communities with emergency care as well as specialized birth and orthopedic facilities.

Restaurants and Dining in Castle Pines

Located at the intersection of I-25 and Castle Pines Parkway, the Village Square serves as the town’s center of commerce. This includes coffee shops, grocery stores, convenient stores, retail shops and a variety of restaurants from fast food to fine dining. More restaurants are located further south near Castle Rock.

Shopping Precincts in Castle Pines

Castle Pines is located in-between two fantastic shopping areas: Lone Tree and Castle Rock. To the north, Lone Tree is home to the Park Meadows Mall with 185 shops, restaurants and a movie theater. This area also boasts the state’s only IKEA store for home design needs. In addition, there is a Cabela’s retail center for outdoor enthusiasts. To the south, Castle Rock has one of the largest outlet malls in Colorado.

Community Recreation Facilities

Castle Pines boasts 560 acres of open space, 14 miles of trails, three golf courses and five community parks. The most notable of these is the 12-acre Elk Ridge Park. This park offers 1.5 miles of paved paths, a “splash pad” water play park, a synthetic sports field, picnic facilities and a playground with a climbing wall to honor Colorado’s adventurous outdoor spirit. The 15-acre Coyote Ridge Park features baseball diamonds and a skate board park. For nature and wildlife enthusiasts, Daniel’s Park, located on the eastern border of Castle Pines. The only Denver Mountain Park space in Douglas County offers a whopping 1,000 acres of natural high plains landscape with sweeping mountain views. Although most of the park is closed to let wildlife roam, parts of it are accessible for recreational use.

The Ridge at Castle Pines North is one of the state’s finest golf facilities. The Ridge features an award-winning 18-hole course with stunning mountain views, a full-service restaurant, pro-shop and lesson program. Alternatively, members have access to a championship length, Jack Nicklaus-designed course.
