Tiny Houses Movement

Tiny House

If you watch HGTV as I do, you’ve probably happened upon the Tiny House movement. The widespread popularity of these small, yet dynamic homes. Though Corken + Company has not represented homes as Denver Metro realtors that are tiny homes, we are still fascinated by this movement.  http://www.hgtv.com/search/tiny-houses-

In addition, there is much debate on whether to downsize to a tiny home or keep your space. Downsizing can be great for many reasons but there are also pros to keeping your space. A major selling point for both buyers and sellers is the option to have a good-sized yard. This is something that must be considered when moving towards something like a tiny home.  http://www.denverpost.com/homegarden/ci_29889574/tiny-houses-embrace-lifestyle-or-keep-your-space

While again, I can’t say I’ve seen many tiny homes in the Denver Metro real estate market. I do see them as an up-and-coming option. There can be many pros to purchasing a tiny home and people are really taking advantage of them. Check out these links for a discussion on tiny houses as an option for senior living. http://seniorplanet.org/tiny-houses-the-next-big-thing-for-seniors/http://www.davidwolfe.com/backyard-granny-pods-nursing-homes/ .

While I’m not a fan of the term “granny pod”, I am a fan of keeping aging family members engaged in their local community. Whether a permanent structure or mounted on wheels, the tiny house concept is increasingly being considered as a viable solution to our country’s problem of ever-increasing housing costs and decreasing quality of life offered to our aging but independent-insistent population. Whether it be a tiny home or one of our impressive custom homes, Corken + Company hopes to be of assistance to you as your Denver metro realtor for your Real Estate Solutions without Limits.
